Museo Altamira

Experience Altamira

The Museum of Altamira complements its attractions with a wide range of cultural and leisure activities. These allow visitors to enjoy and further their knowledge of prehistory and the history of Altamira.

They can gain firsthand experience of prehistoric techniques at our prehistory and art workshops. At Altamira, visitors can practice the art of launching assegai for hunting, learn about making fire by rubbing sticks together, and painting using the spray pipe.

Families can share the museum’s attractions, which provide a space for learning together. The bison is currently the protagonist of a range of activities, games, reading exercises, and programmes for the exhibition.

It is also possible to enjoy events that take place on commemorative days (such as International Museum Day, Long Night of Museums and the Summer Programme) that offer different and entertaining ways to enjoy cultural activities.

You can also purchase items from the shop or eat in the café.
